    Hi Greg,
Complete noob here. I've been learning the ropes with boat craft/sounding for fish in the brisbane river mouth. What areas should I be looking for whiting in the river mouth (are u still where the wharves are?). I'm still building up experience before venturing out further as I feel somewhat safer when I can see land LOL

Patanoster rig, teardrop sinker, True turn hooks, either size 4 or 6.
bait small pieces of green prawn or squid. I cut up the afternoon before then salf the prawn pieces and squid. Definately toughens them up.

    cheers

    Re: Whiting bagout

Nice tip with the salting. I'll definitely try that. Do u just drift around or find a spot and anchor up?

    Re: Whiting bagout

Bit of both. Sometimes anchor when get few real quick, but then u have to play them a bit more. They love that moving bait.
I always leave bail arm open. Only close it after they are hooked, that way i can just keep letting out a bit of line.

    Re: Whiting bagout

whats the size Greg, only seem to be getting the odd big one, unlike last july at rouse banks

I think this year has been bit disappointing overall, have bagged out few times, but the quality is missing
