Caloundra Bar

Can anyone provide any info on how the bar is at the moment. Its been a long time since ive been out over it.

Went over it a few weeks ago. Could hardly call it a bar though. Flat as a tack. Contact Caloundra coast guard for current details.

On good days it seems very workable according to a friend who lives on the canal estate caloundra. I went out through there a few months ago as passenger in a 5 mtr bow rider cruise craft and it was a synch. Pick the good days and tides.

Never try and cross on outgoing tide as you get pressure waves as well as the swell and they jack up out of no where. Easter two years ago 5 boats rolled on the bar over the weekend. Most were trying to cross on outgoing tide. Love this time of year with westerly winds flattening the swell nicely.
