    Used Savage Mako Best Power

Looking around for a 2000 to 2008 Savage Mako. so I was wondering what the order of preference would be for Outboards.

The motors I have seen advertised on a Savage Mako range from Merc 150 EFI, Merc 135 saltwater 2 stroke, Merc 115 2 stroke Yamaha 115 4 stroke and E tec 115. I am aware some have had Optimax fitted.

I assume the fuel efficient motors will use about 1 litre per nautical mile and the others around 1 litre per 0.6 nautical miles.

Perhaps someone has a good knowledge of fuel usage of these motors and a preference list based on reliability / maintenance cost and fuel running cost.

How would you stack these motors from most desirable to least. ?

    Thanks Peter

Johnno 140 is a V4 I think, any idea what your average fuel burn is or what the optimax is using ? What year is the Optimax, any dramas I hear mixed reports about fuel savings spent on compressor failure sender units and or higher levels of technical support. ?

Anyone know much about Merc 150 EFI >
