    Rocky/Yeppoon Squid

    Gday

    Wanting to chase squid in the area but know nothing basically. I don't have a boat, only land based or from kayak. Have ages squid jigs but chasing anyone that wants to give some pointers on places to try and techniques etc.

    looking for for them to eat

    You'll basically get them this time of year around any of the headlands with weed around the land base here Ritamada is a good place otherwise any coral ground around the islands .
    Technique is casting and jerking ur rod imitating a prawns movements and biggest thing I can tell u is patience and light drag and sight watching if u see them keep at it cause they are fussy buggars

    I've caught them around Roslyn Bay marina a few times.

    OK, this is spot never failed me, Has always manage to get good large squid, it's protected from the wind and sometime the fish are good too.

    I'm further north but I got a few last week around some rocky headlands. Water was really clear and a slow and steady retrieve did the trick.
