Over the last few years i've been moving from the rod and reel to the speargun, for the challenge and different perspective on the ocean.
paying dividend, i've been rewarded with some fish of a life time ! risk to reward, With high risk comes high reward. The sharks i've had to deal with have been mind blowing, none the less the learning curve which has converted over into my fishing has resulted in greater knowledge of fish and the general habitats of ocean creatures. Taking fish in a sustainable way is the way of the future, be it with any means of hunting, sustainability is crucial for the ocean and i'm only starting to see the effects humans are having within the marine industry. i find it mind blowing the lack of information we know and have on the ocean and marine life within. so much can still be learnt on fish numbers, location, migration and what the ocean is providing for us.
i only hope my kids get to grow up in the same conditions if not better then what we have now, the ocean is mind blowing.
Through-out this summer i've seen incredible underwater action, traveling the miles up and down Queensland coast finding fish. i had two chances at taking a PB this summer, with multiple sightings of large fish i only got to land 1.
