    Boat ramp courtesy

I thought I had seen it all, until this morning.

I went down to clontarf boat ramp for a bit of a look this morning at 7am.

A black 4 wd reversed down with 2 jet skis on dual trailer. The driver was a nice lookin blonde. Had all the boys looking.

well she reversed down, into water as if the skis were coming off, but no.

The old man got out of the passenger side with a camera and tripod. Took couple pics. They were on far side of ramp next to walkway.

Well that wasnt good enough, so she drove across the ramp to the other side of ramp, stopping couple cars that were waiting.

She then reversed down again, wheels in water, and iam thinking this time, unloading skis.

no, wrong again. The old man wanted more pics. Well the car and skis stayed in that position on the ramp for at least 20 mins.

the old man was up on the rock wall, back over to walkway taking a hundred pics.

Everyone must had been in a good mood down our way today. As you can imagine how many boats were going out. One after the other. No one said a word.

so fellas if u ever want to do something on the ramp for 20 mins or so and dont give a stuff about anyone else, make sure u have a good looker with you because she go plenty of looks in her short dress and noone will abuse u.

    cheers

Nothing I like better when not in my own boat than checking out some of the morons at the boat ramp , no matter where we go we see them and it provides me and the wife some entertainment , sort weird I know but bugger it's funny. Matt
A bad days fishing has got to be better than any day at work......

Yup. There's been many an afternoons free entertainment had parked beside a boatramp just watching. Only funny because you aren't directly involved though.

I wanted to launch at a single lane ramp on the gold coast a few years ago but about 4 boats had to wait 15 mins because some one from the local jet-ski mechanic was left his ute and trailer on the ramp while he took one for a test run.
I've seen the same at Wynnum too while an outboard mechanic was test running a boat.

My favourite to date happened at Cleveland. There was a line of about 5 rigs all waiting their turn in the prep area when old mate drives past everyone, parks at the top of the ramp and starts to prep. There was the usual loud comments between those waiting their turn when someone pulls this stunt and then everyone resumed business as normal. Next thing you know there is a god awful bang followed by several seconds of the most horrible grinding sound and another bang. Old mate had attempted a shot gun launch, got out of shape and had to stop. His pride and joy henceforth leapt into action but ended up firmly lodged on the ramp with the transom a full foot short of the water. This was of course followed by a round of applause and peals of laughter while the rest of us drove around, launched and left him scratching his head as to what to do next. Now I can't speak for the other guys at the ramp but I know I would have definately offered a hand had he not been such an ignorant git. One of those rare occassions where karma chalked one up for the good guys.

A coupe with a rubber duckie pulled up at the diamond head ramp, it was mid week and fortunately quiet at the time which was unusual but they had the truck on the ramp, unloaded all their gear, I have no idea where they were going to stow it as there wouldn't be room for any persons, andmore gear was coming out of the truck. I had my rig out of the water, derigged, washed and parked away from the ramp, fish filleted and packed and they were still there, I left just as they were starting to pump air into the rubber ducky. I just shook my head and drove off.
