New trailer needed for 2400 kevlacat

Ok its time to get a new trailer to go under the Kevlacat 2400 offshore and would like some feed back on steel verse alloy trailers. Also would like to here from anyone that has had anything to do with stainless brake set ups etc. Open to suggestions on trailer builders.

Gav, since going to alloy trailers under my boats I wouldn't ever go back, price for me wasn't too bad as i built myself but weight savings my the massive advantage, on my last 8m ally trailer i dropped 440kg over the steel unit, cost is up there on ally stuff but is purely in labour time,

Thanks Justin, been a while since we crossed paths. It seems like the ideal time to make the change from steel to alloy/stainless just need some feedback from those who have had them and there must be a few that have been using them a while now.

I don't know how much credibility you have when you didn't even know they weren't workingbut thankyou for your valued input

if u near Noosa you can see if you can source some of this special Stainless Wayne imports for his Nooscat trailers from Finland or something.
2101 grade specially formulated for extreme salt resistance and high strength /tensile so he uses this and there is big weight saving vs normal Gal steel trailer
I have this under my 2300 and a few yrs on still looks shiny new.
Can use lighter gauge giving the weight savings instead of hassles of building an alloy with huge beams for strength and bolting up.

Have stainless calipers and a new generation Sensabrake setup compatible with the motion sensing in car controllers, cannot fault it and drives like a dream

I would recommend you call Al and Tim Broughton at Sea-Trek Marine at Caloundra. I am very impressed with the ally trailer they put under my new boat. I have towed it loaded (2.8T) to and from Hervey Bay a couple of times now and has not given me any problems. The Sea-Trek 5900 Supersport is 2.495m wide so their trailer would be pretty spot on for the 2400Kc as well.

They have a finished trailer at the factory for the boat they are building at the moment if you want to take a look at one.

    Cheers

    Jeff,

I have seen some of Al & Tim"s trailers at the ramp a few times and they are one we would consider. Gav McMullen in Kunda park also does a nice alloy trailer. But do like the sound of Wayne's Noosacat trailers so this is very interesting.

    Rexaway,
Thanks for that, it looks good and I'm glad I put up the post as some good info coming in.

Any other colour Rangie probably wouldn't pull a trailer. Red ones go faster and harder. Everyone knows that.

I just assumed range rovers didn't go fast enough to need brakes.
