Tropicrows, no mate I didn't see the units but he did say he would be running a 1150 Furuno. Nice sounder. He did also mention the whole Furuno package he had bought. Sounds impressive. Did he get all he wanted to do done? The shed will be empty down there shortly

Shane will be a few more days I would say. Don't think Daves she'd will be empty for a long time. There's still a list of boats to be done on the whiteboard.

Went back again today for the final look over for anything that needed to be added or changed before it goes to paint. Was hoping to go to paint next Monday but the painter is delayed so it wont go until Thursday. Getting closer now.

Yeah looking good. Bloody exciting times as the hotworks nears completion. You'll be enjoying her soon enough.
Yeh guys you are right, getting very excited. I wont see it again now until after it is painted. I just hope I haven't forgotten anything that needs to be welded on because it will be all to late once it is painted. I am hoping to get the eskies and kill tank all glassed before it goes to paint. The painter is saying 2-3 weeks for the job, does this sound right? I am not getting every weld faired, really only after the dash to look nice. The sides are already pretty straight but no doubt will need some filling somewhere. So as it stands at the moment, the first 3 weeks of November will be paint, then the next 2 weeks will be engine fitting and all electrical fitout then back to Riptide for the final fitout which will hopefully see me taking it out for the maiden voyage around mid December.
It has been a long wait but every time I visit and see it getting close, the wait all seems worth while. Pushing those throttles down for the first time will be a great feeling. Cant wait!!!!!!!!!
Gday guys, well I have visited for the last time before paint. It left on Thursday to go to the painter to be started the prep for paint on Monday. We are looking at 3 weeks for the painting process. Here is a few pics I took on Monday and a few more Dave sent me just before it left. I will post a few more pics when it comes back from paint.
Cheers

Looks good mate, basically identical to Lukes.
Mate mine has been at the painters now for 3 months. I am hopefully picking it up next week when i fly in.
It has had over 237 hours spent fairing and high build and primes etc.lol.
Maybe Dave builds a straighter boat.
I'm over it at this stage.
Good luck.
Mick.
Gday Mick, Yeh mate basically Luke's boat all over again. I went and had a good look over Luke's a fair while ago and got lots of his ideas which was handy for me. I am not going to that extent with the fairing, I have just said to do as good of a job as possible without too much bog. It was pretty straight and a few bits here and there don't bother me that much as it really will be 95% fishing boat. I personally wouldn't have painted it at all however the bosses one stipulation was "it will be painted!!!!!!!" Yours will look fantastic no doubt. When are you home to pick her up? Are you hoping to be fishing for Xmas?
it is starting to get exciting for me so you must be chomping at the bit as well.
i am looking forward to seeing yours complete.
Cheers
Lee
I can't see it being ready for xmas mate, still got trim and sea deck flooring to do after fit out.
When i did the pre-fit out prior to paint every item that was pre drilled was then bagged with the screws that hold it.
I have even gone to the extant of placing a nylon washer on every stainless nylock meeting the alloy along with loads of tef gel to reduce corrosion and blistering.
Along with that i have made 3mm rubber gaskets where stainless or anything meets the alloy, again reducing corrosion and noise.
Every cable that needed to come through the roof or bulk heads is via a IP66 rated gland as well.
I have opted for my transom to be painted the same colour as the sides where most boats are done in white, combined with the blue under water LED's and blue transom lights, blue submersible live bait tank LED's and under gunnel lights it should look the part.
I will be fishing this thing hard just a little careful.lol
I am back this Thursday and hope to pick up Friday/Monday.
Im suffering anxiety attacks to start fit out,the shed is bulging with gear ready to be installed. I wasn't going to show anyone the dumby up of the art work going on the side but can;t help myself.lol
Talk soon Lee.
Mick.
