Is Side View available for the Garmin 751xs
Gday all,
Could anyone tell me if Garmin has the side view function available for the 751xs in Australia yet?
I have the 751xs set up in my 4.3 Center Console Tinny, I only use the boat in Estuaries and rivers (yea I know it’s an overkill but hey) It’s a bloody awesome unit, but seen as its mainly shallow water I fish in, the side view would open up a whole new world for me so to speak, and I need all the help I can get when it comes to finding fish

Re: Is Side View available for the Garmin 751xs
it can be. but sooo maanny holes to cut! i think the workshop staff get nervouse when i get boxes of stuff. they know im about to go to town on one of the demo boats putting new holes in the boat. i got caught early monday morning EARLLLY. underneith the demo boat on a trolly with a wholesaw putting a dirty big hole in the hull for a inhull transducer.................what can i say! i was curious!
so yeah by clear vu. i mean side view
so... they all skirt around terminology "spite taking each other to court all the time
Humminbird = Side imaging
Lowrance/simrad = structure scan
Garmin = Side Vu (combind with downVu to be called CLEAR VU)
all basically the same. shooting fine beams out to the side and down. kinda different tech between them but yeah. the garmin works on a chirp frequency modulation. where its 430-455khz or 800-810khz ehhh its not a game changer.. but enough to escape a law suit "maybe"
they are 899 for the module and transducer. im doing a special on them at the boat show for 799

Re: Is Side View available for the Garmin 751xs
Ok thanks Moose, while I’m extremely happy with the 751xs with the Chirpy thingo, I certainly will have to wait a bit longer for the Side View until the price goes down a bit, as that will put the price of the unit up around the $2,800 mark which is a bloody lot for my little 4.3 Tinny I’m afraid
Thanks again Mate.
