    Stanage and the Percy's

    We hit Stanage Bay on Saturday morning to be greeted by a week of 20knts plus so we dropped the Crab Pots and settled in for the long wait for some reasonable weather. The famous Stanage Crabs played the game and we put together some great feeds of Chilli Crab thanks to Dave Netmakers culinary skills. A few cleansing ales and a lot of laughs made the time pass quickly. A bit of fun was had watching the mighty Apollo get humbled by the critters that live in the deep rocky holes in Thirsty Sound
    Eventually the weather came good and we headed to Hexam to put a few Trout, Cod and big Grassies in the box. We then headed up to Middle Percy for lunch and a bit of a look around. A visit to the A frame on sundown was a major highlight. Its a great spot.
    Next morning we found some ground nearby and had one of the hottest bites I have ever had with Trout, Gold Spot Cod, a Red and BIG Grassies all fighting over our baits. Marty even got a Trout and a Grassie on a single gang. We pulled the pin at 8.30am to get back to the ramp before it dried out.
    A great place and top company. I will return

    Great fun and thanks for the invite Neil. Yeap, those things that lurk in the deep holes in the sounds are more than a match for me.
    I am so happy to wake up in the morning.

    Beats the alternative!

    Looks like you Guys had a good trip even if the wind was blowing. Neil we need to see if we can organise the trip next year so we are together . When I have a date will let you know. Hope those marks are still in the GPS so I can hit them next year, and I think after looking at those photos there needs to be a bit of dieting going on { just saying }

    That photo of Marty / Captain Seaweed. holding that double hook up on a set of gang hooks we fished that same area down around the Percy's and got smashed by Grassy Sweet lip and under size reds that was a very productive area
