    Re: Snapper rigs

Creative thinking. The question is does it work?
That's a nice fish you caught... Do you mind if I use it for bait.

    Re: Snapper rigs

Just saw Paul on I fish catch a 90cm snapper on a sinker!! A double hook up one on the normal hook and one on the sinker. He had a normal paternoster, but on the sinker he also had a hook tied. No bait on it just the hook swinging from the sinker. Might be a good idea for those on a budget ( those octo jigs can be pricey) 😀 . Definatly gonna try the octo jig though.

    Cheers Nic

    Re: Snapper rigs

someone who used to post here a lot catches good snapper on those octojigs. I seem to remember him saying he uses a cheap version off ebay
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.

Works a treat. Instead of a snapper lead, we use 300 or 200gm octojigs in 70-80m of water.

Invariably it catches the larger fish of the day, with many a Maori cod coming up.
