Was thinking of heading out tomorrow, reports have been few and far between. Anyone catching whiting from the sand hills of Moreton down into the southern bay area.

Maturity is not when we start speaking BIG things,it is when we start understanding small things
Went to the Sandhills on Monday, and kept half a dozen (divers). Threw back another half dozen (small) and about 50 baby sweetlip. Fished for maybe 2 hours.

Got about 10 keepers and as many small fry on the sandbanks just south of Harries - some good sizes but you needed to look for them
Grinners were in plague proportions
Sounds like a trip offshore might be more productive, depending on the weather

Took my Mum out for a fish today to see if we could catch a feed of whiting. Left some pots near Green and headed over to the Rous joining a half dozen other boats. Not sure how others went but too slow for us so headed over to the Sandhills for a look. Brought home a small feed and a couple of unlucky pike (for future baits). Also dropped in 4 pots over there and had two raided by a local turtle or dolphin and only small bucks in the other two. Rain chased us back home and no crabs in the pots near Green. All in all it was still a relaxing day on the water. Brad
I ended up staying in the bay today. Tried for some snaps around Peel and Harries but only got pickers. Headed into the Rous and picked up 20 whiting some up to 30cm.

The young fella and I are going to the Rouse tomorrow. Hopefully we can find them.
