    Post marriage fishing challenge

    I got married over the weekend in a great little ceremony. For my bucks party I flew down to Tassie for a spot of tuna fishing.
    As is usually the case, the night before fishing my mates forced me to drink a ridiculous amount of grog.
    The next day at 6 am, feeling a bit dusty I decided a post-fishing big breakfast was a good idea to over come the hangover.
    It wasn't. Before we'd even got around the headland and into the swell I was power heaving over the side in my first ever sea sickness experience.
    We battled on and I'm bloody glad we did. We ended up hooking into over 40 striped and blue fin tuna and albacore.

    After the wedding I have a week off and as my wife's family are all staying with us for another two weeks my mate came back to Brissy for some fishing. He lives in Tassie so we set ourselves the challenge to catch one of each of the following, as he has never caught them before:
    1. Snapper;
    2. Jew;
    3. Whiting;
    4. Tailor;
    5. Bull shark.

    We plan to visit the Pin, Gold Coast Seaway, Logan river and Palmy reef. Any tips or reports appreciated.

    Due to needing a new tyre on the boat and having to order a replacement we postponed heading to the GC and went out to Mud. On the way there my sounder decided to pack it in so we were forced to fish blind. Disaster. We flicked plastics anyway as the sun set for a grinner and a juvie squire and after the sun went down swapped to bait but couldn't even lose one bit so I cracked the shits and headed in earlier than planned leaving the pots in the water as I ran the risk of clipping the reef/bottom trying to find them in the dark without a sounder.

    So, this morning heading back out on a salvage mission and another flick! Hard to go to the same spot after such a bad result yesterday but my pots need me!

    Any help achieving our mission would be greatly appreciated. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

    As a side note, is this a mutant tiger blue swimmer?

    great way to have your bucks party. I believe that crab is called a coral crab with no legal size
    Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.

    That crab is a coral crab and one of the best eating of all the crabs. Sweet like a blue-swimmer/sand crab and thick like a muddy.

    Challenge so far is whiting and snapper ticket off.
