Garmin Data Card 276c 172c 178c
Does anyone have a blank Garmin data card to fit a 276c, 172c or 178c GPS that I could borrow / buy for a transfer of marks between units?
Could be a bluechart card you no longer have use for that I can over write with the marks.
My 276c is close to dying and I want to transfer nearly 1000 marks to the 178c.

Jack, I'll have a look when I get home in a few days - used to have the 172c. Can't promise anything as it's been years since I owned it.
Cheers,
Wags

another option if you cant get a card is to hook the gps directly up to your pc with a serial plug. i back up my 172c straight to my pc all the time this way(just a matter of wiring up the data wires the right way. plenty of free software online to import/back up your marks with as well. garmin dealer may be able to help with the wiring if needed (i got mine done when i bought it).

Serial connection will do it. I did that with the brother in laws 178. He bought a new unit. You will need a serial to USB converter and a nine pin serial connector. A google search will show the wiring configuration. Make sure you set the communication to Garmin not NMEA. Basically you use the data in and data out to complete the transfer.
