Fishing the Abrohlos WA
Just got back from a week fishing the Abrohlos out of Geraldton WA. Fishing was awesome. Met my first couple of WA Dhu Fish. Good as trout on the tooth. Saw a lot of old mates from my annual Swains trip. ie Coral Trout, Red Emporer, Spanish Mackies, Red Throat, Tuskies to name a few. And some new mates such as Bald Chin Groper and yellowfin tuna.
Went out daily from Geraldton on a mate's 28 ft Leisure Cat with a stop over one night on the islands. What was left of the tuna fed 6 of us on the night stopover. Estimated weight was 30kG before sharkie claimed the reef tax. Definately going back. Beats snapper fishing in Western Port Victoria.
