    Garmin 750 frozen

    Garmin 750 problem.

I turned on the unit today and when I select a chart (any chart) the screen is frozen. I can't select or do anything. I can't even turn off the unit without holding down the on/off button for 10 seconds. All other screen function work, just not the charts page. I have NOT done a factory reset as I was hoping not to.....

I was hoping to go fishing tomorrow.

Take the chart card out and try again. If it works then, then the card contacts might be dirty or the contacts in the card slot could be dirty.

had the same thing happen on a Lowrance unit a couple of years ago and thats what it was.

Only have the inbuilt maps, so no card to take out.

I solved the problem with some help. It was corrupt data file I modified with HomePort. I reloaded an unchanged version of the file and everything is now good.

All I did in Homeport was delete some old tracks ??????
