that's a grunter or javelin fish, bloody good size too well done.
Fished for a few hours this morning off the mouth with a mate (I'm from NZ), got this 10kg Jewfish? and also this other fish.... but I'm not sure what it is, looks like a smaller stouter version of the Jewfish?! It went almost 4kgs. Cheers, Andrew

nice fish mate! believe the second one is a barred javelinfish (grunter) and a cracker at that!

Fought real well on 4kg braid alright, thought it was a Snapper as have caught a few over there before, dogged, head-thumping fight, fought better than the Jewfish at half it's size, infact the Jewfish did not do much really, just a heavy weight, a few more species to tick off the list thought! Was in about 8m of water on a Jackall Trans-am. Cheers
