    New tyres

Same old chestnut. Looking for new tyres for my disco. Running 235 70 R16 on it. 99.9% onroad or sand. Looking at an AT pattern. aAny suggestions or good prices out there. I want cheap but not too nasty.

    Re: New tyres

Sort of depends on your budget....

For $250 / tyre, fitted and balanced ( throw in a wheel alignment ).... will get you mid range AT's

My mate at On Track 4WD probably wouldn't sell you a " cheap but not too nasty " tyre.

Might be worth giving him a call about Maxxis though.

Other than that, might be able to hit Evilbay etc...... maybe even Greys Online for some at auction. Then you just need to find the tyre fitter.

have a squizz at this dude :- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/1209...=true&lpid=107

Maxxis MA751. Can't beat them for price, ride, and wear.

Having said the above..... my old tyres are in pretty good shape.

I'll check size and tread.... supply photo etc soon.

    Re: New tyres

I'm running Maxxis 751s at the moment. They have not worn as well as my last set which were Pirelli Scorpions. The Maxxis price range is what I'm looking at

I just fitted a set of Bridgestone D697 ATs on the Ranger. $265 fitted each so will see how they go. Had them on the Prado and was happy with them for the price.

I have seen the D697 at KMart for $225 fitted and balanced. They are one I'm looking at.

    Re: New tyres

Hankook Dynapro A/t $220 each at Jax and that was for 17". Awesome tyre for the money....Whisper quiet, great tread pattern exceptional grip in wet and dry. Best value by a long way.

    Re: New tyres

Hankook or Yokohama's would be my bet. The Yoko's have a lifetime warranty on their side walls being puncture proof and my recent set I got were $230 fitted. Great tread for sand and moderate 4x4'ing.
