Bribie Passage 12 Mar 2014 Jew

Headed up my favourite creek at 5am and fished the last of the run up for dozens of 23 -24 cm bream and a few large pike eels to 1.5 mtrs then moved towards the mouth for the runout and after 10 mins bang a nice 70cm Jew hits my large mullet finger bait and was nicely released and a few more large pike eel bigger than 1.5 mtrs bloody ugly things and heading back to try again tomorrow morning.

Nice one, mate. Surprised the Pikies are giving you grief at that hour - they normally go off the chew for us around dawn onwards. Good report.

Got a few pikes at Macleay the other day around 1.4m. Will not bring them into the boat as I have been chased by them b4. The only way I bring a hair tale into the boat is on the end of a gaff. Those fish have definitely got Bad ass attitude.

if you want some fun set up a wire trace with the biggest hook you got, bring the pike eel on board knock it out with a donga or something hard, cut the head off and throw it over then cut the eel into chunks about 4-6inchs long put your hook through and enjoy the zzzzzzz when you hook up to fun bullsharks! keeps me entertained whilest waiting for the jew and bream to hit me up

    nice jewy though! Well done.

Yeah would fish for shark but with the stupid green zone rules I can only fish 2 rods so i see no point in wasting a rod on a shark when I can target Jew, Flathead or Jacks etc.
