how to stop soft plastics melting!! help!!

As the title says I cant seem to stop my soft plastics melting, I have them just stored in my tackle box with all the other soft plastics and they either melt together.melt to the tackle box, and I have my tacklebox stored away not in direct sunlight. is it because I have them all rubbing against each other in one compartment of the container ? please help

I noticed that mine did that in a tackle box but not in the plastic tackle trays. A different material perhaps. I have had the same ones in the same compartment together for years with no problem but put them in a tackle box and they melt.

Yeah alot of plastics will melt if they are mixed with different types of plastics, zman are the worst but also the zerek shrimp. I keep all mine separated in different colour and brands now and keep them in a tackle tray unless I know that they don't melt like the squiggies and atomics.

Look for boxes that are advertised as 'Worm Proof' and keep them stored in the same type/brand,also don't mix the colours in each compartment.

Why not keep them in their clip sealed packets and put all the packets together in a container? That way they stay in the scented juice that some have in the packet and are separated from different brands that can contaminate each other and won't dry out. If they re too hard to see what colours etc in their original packets then transfer them to smaller clear clip seal bags.

    Yeh triple, me too.
I leave mine in their plastic bags and store then in plastic bread boxes. 1 box for bass, 1 for flathead, 1 for bream, 1 for jew/snaps, ect ect.

My problem is finding the bag I want to use......

Some plastics are not compatible so keep all brands separated.

Colours can run from one to the other as well.

Some plastics can not even mingle with others in a tackle tray.....the fumes can set off other plastics as well.

Safest option is the packets you bought them in.

Try creating a ring binder for each brand maybe......can save some angst finding the one you want.

I left one floating in a tray in my tackle box and it plasticized a bit of the tray which started to conform to the SP shape then hardened after I removed the SP. Lesson learned.
