    Lowrance Sonic Hub and Chirp

Hi - has any one got one of the gen 2 lowrance sounders HDS 7 or 8 and have a sonic hub ( opps read sonar hub ) connected that apparently allow for operation as a normal sounder, plus side scan and downscan, and use the chirp technology ( or is it still to be released in Aus ) - and if so how is it going, amazing , good, bad or indifferent

cheers and thanks for any input

Rob, the Sonarhub chirp module is the one you want, the Sonichub is the music player!

i am seeing good reports in the USA on the sonic hub. But gee, its a bit expensive when you also have to add a chirp transducer as well.... Around $1300 by the time you add a chirp transducer and LSS2 transducer to get sidescan etc.

    cheers
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

opps thanks moonlighter - have a touch of memory fade now and then your dead right meant sonarhub ( not really into underwater music much ) - and yes add on a special airmar transducer $ as well then its getting up there a bit

yeah i think navico did a diservice by naming it SONAR hub.. its just going to cause confusion when ordering stuff. its not out.. yet. here.
i think.......well its purely a hardwear test bed. the same sonar/side imaging module is placed inside the new simrad nss evo units and will be more than likley on the hds gen 3 in a year or so. i dont think they should of had the side iamging module and CHIRP in one. it really kills out their HDS touch markets. already having the structure scan built in.. and 90% of the hds units i sell now are touch. and it will prob be 100% in less than a year. so effectivly about 600 dollars of that module .. is wasted.. so.. that kinda sucks. . watch this space.
