    Boat Transport Melbourne - Brisbane

    Hi all,

I am looking at relocating a large (7.5M) fibreglass trailerboat from Melbourne to Brisbane.

Anyone had any experience and happy to share what they paid?

I would appreciated any recommendations - maybe PM me if there are any you think I should stay away from..

Thanks - I will write up my findings and the process once I have got it all done.

    Cheers,

    Brad,

Ask for a "back loading" price (can't remember the exact terminology) as this will be cheaper - it's when they are going down there anyway and come back with your load. However, it may end up being a few days longer to arrive.

I used Leisure Transport at the end of last year. $1300 for a camper from Melb. to Rocky. Best price I found.
Melb. to Bris was quoted as $750

you need to remember that any old truck wont do, it will need to be loaded somehow, most just use a forklift in a depot, but a one off pickup will require someone at the departure end to drive/lift the thing on, and the same at the destination, unless it is a dedicated car type transporter, that has ramps and so on.
