Your within your rights do do so and you cant let other ppl tell you what to do in your own front/backyard. I would be telling them that you have considered their request but politely decline. Record the times you do it though with a quick pic on your phone (takes 10secs) incase they want to make up porky pies and complain to the council.
Never had a complaint from the neighbours but was conscious that my 2-smoker made a lot of noise when flushing so I got a plastic 44-gal drum and cut it in half and now use that, it cut down the noise by about 75% I would say. I have spare drums coming up so if you want one get in touch.
last new years bloke across the road from where I was staying decided to flush his ski boat's merc two stroke on the muffs bang on at 7AM! It was hilarious! Big merc 2 strokes are the noisiest motor on muffs period. epecially when you bust out the fast idle lever and give a bit of a spike!
Theres the problem straight up.
Maybe from now on rev the shit out of it with Death Metal on the stereo also and remind her of how considerate you used to be.
Get yourself a flush bag, last thing you want is having to worry every day that your neighbour has done something while you are out fishing to repay your "special favours", also saves the issue of ear muffs coming off or moving while your flushing the engine.
We're all different I guess. I personally wouldn't care less if they complained, it would removed from the mind as quick as it was said.
But if it continued they would be advised that my patience is running thin and to cease their whinging or a reaction may take place. Their choice to continue or not.
That reaction may include a number of counter measures. Jim
Try putting a rag over the exhaust / in the prop, the water will run out still but it will quieten it a bit, my old man to did it for years. Cheers Shane.
