Port Jackson alright then, pretty prehistoric thing hey? I have heard of people eating them, but I reckon you would get about 100grams of meat off one, and you would need an axe to fillet it!

A jacko is one of the few sharks that can bit their own tail. Upset him enough holding him like that and he can grab your arm from that position and do some decent damage to you. Just something to be aware of.

I think you are confused with the Wobbegong, a Port Jackson could not even give you a decent squeeze if it bit you, and it would take 5 minutes to turn around and grabs its own tail, they are so slow and harmless that you can catch them by hand when snorkeling, a Wobbegong though is a different story! And in a kind of way, do look a tiny bit similar.

Yes Noelm!! Those wobbegong do exactly that, we used to get them in our cray pots all the time and they certainly can swing around and bite you!!

What sort of shark is that Conco? It isn't a Port Jackson.

It's a bit hard to see, but it looks like one of those skinny things you get now and then when fishing hard reef, got sort of slit eyes, we call the "sleepy sharks" because it looks like their eyes are closed.
