    Minn Kota advice, 3.7 dart

    Hey guy, wanting to put a bow mount on my tinnie, 3.7 meter quintrex wondering what shaft length would suit, 48" or 54"? and a lot of ads I've seen on similar boats with bow mounts have custom brackets welded on. How do I go about this, is it necessary? So many options making it bit confusing. Thanks in advance, Matt.

    re shaft length:
    my understanding is, when it is 'deployed' [ie is in the water]
    the prop should have 12" of water above it;
    so you could start by putting boat in water & measuring distance from water to gunnel.

    I suspect the 54" is usually for bigger boats but for expert advice you could ring BLA who are the importers, I found them very good.

    Thanks, might give them a ring next week. Starting to think with what I've found on the net I won't need a custom bracket mount as where it mounts on my tinnie is flat, think people are making mounts only when there curved if that makes sense.
