Shagga called me last week and asked if I was keen on a fish from the yaks. I couldn't make it but managed to find some time this morning. We met at the launch spot at 4:30am paddled across to spot X and was in position at 4:45.
There was a 10-15 knot easterly blowing and high tide wasn't far off. Shagga was on a mission to blood his yak and things looked promising from the get go when I hooked up on my first cast but lost the fish on the way in after a nice bit of line peeled off. Shagga just shook his head hahaa..
Well, it wasnt as fast and furious as the last few outings but over the course of the day we ended putting 12 flattys into the yaks. Shagga ended up with 2 nice keepers and I got 3. We were off the water around 11:30am had the fish cleaned and we went our separate ways. Good to see his face when he finally put a fish in the big piece of plastic :-D
Thanks again for a top day Gazza!!
