Hi all,
Bad weather means boat maintenance and I decided to check out my bilge pump etc to see if it was working. Pretty hard to get to in a Stacer (5.49 Wave Runner).
To getto the bilge pump you need to do the following:
1. Remove the rear floor sections
2. Remove the vertical metal panel in front of the battery bays
3. Undo all the battery wiring and remove batteries
4. Take the fastening screws off the battery bay and the surrounding inserts
5. Slide out the battery bay
You then have access to the blige pump and float switch. My boat has an 1100 GPH Rule Pump with a strainer and a Rule-a-matic float switch.
I was quite shocked to find mine was not wired properly though there had been wires run forward for a three way bilge switch - though these are not labelled at all.
I was quite happy to see the amount of foam that was under the floor and in the transom area - give me a bit more comfort when heading deep to know that the boat will still be above water somewhat.
Gernally seems like the boat is well made and weld are quite neat and solid. Just wish there was an easier way to get to the bilge!

After all the disassembly there is the bilge pump and switch! They are both riveted to a small platform.
