ice - best type of ice to take fishing

Just another simple question, whats the best type of ice to buy when fishing.

    1. Crushed ice or flake
    2. Cubed Ice
    3. Bullet ice

I guess it depends on how long you need it for, I have found (and there is no science here) that block ice lasts longer, flake ice seems to keep fish better and cool them quicker, and plain old servo bags somewhere in between.

And salt it down for that extra distance.

The hollow tube ice or hollow bullet ice takes up more room and seems to melt faster. I have never used crushed or flake ice but it is used in some commercial fisheries to chill big fish quickly
