Rock fishing/skin divers boots for fishing of rocks etc, which is best?

    Hello.

Looking at either of these two options for rock fishing boots.

    http://www.#################.com.au/...utm_medium=cpc

    or this

    http://www.scubadiving.com.au/wetsui...-4mm-dive-boot

I've seen a few blokes use the scuba divers boots on sandstone type rock where I usually fish. They look good, and could also be used as water boots when fishing in smaller boats in estuaries etc-i.e getting out at ramp etc etc.Not sure if the more dedicated rock boots could be used as such as well.I never fish of those black bassalt type rocks-they seem so much more slippery than the sandstone type ones.

So-looking for thoughts on either of the above,or maybe some other suggestions.I have used very cheap 'Big W' type water boots, that cost only $15 surprisingly got a fair amount of wear out of them-until they feel to bits,so time to up grade.

    Thanks for any advice.

When I used to do a lot of rock fishing around Coffs I got myself a pair of those Croc looking enclosed clog things made by Shimano. Never had any dramas hanging onto rocky outcrops with those on as they are pretty supple and can bend easily with your feet. Good soles on them too, and comfy for the long slogs up and down the breakwall, and the hike over the island we used to fish.
    Would highly recommend them.
    Cheers
    Chris

i used to do a lot of rock fishing in sydney anywhere from oldmans hat
to the mattens and alike,I always used a pair of normal runners that i
    put metal cleats on.

if i was to do some rock fishing again now i would be grabbing these

I use to use KD sandles with stainless self tappers screwed in then cut the heads off to make spikes. You couldn't buy decent rock foot wear in those days.

It also makes a differance on what type of rock your on, sandstone, volcanic, smooth solid.

The ebay ones posted above look good though. Leigh

I use a pair of diving boots with grip sole but they get hot and if they fill with water they get heavy and you have wet feet all day.. And if you end up in the drink they are buggers to swim with and hard to get off. Like lee8sec stated all depends on what surface and what season whether you want warm or cool feet and as much as I hate crocs I will be looking at that option for myself or a pair of dunlop volleys.

    Thanks all.

I found what I was looking for some 'mirage TTZ' dive boots-very happy with my purchase, the shop did have the ones this link

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mirage-Ro...p2054897.l4275

I tried these on,and they (IMO) were awful, they slipped and slide all over the floor, the dive boots felt much safer to be in,so very happy only $36

Yes rock type is an important factor-and my purchase will go well on them. Now to plan a trip
