Garmin 7212 with GSD 24 or 26
I've started the electronics buying for my cat, I settled on the Garmin 7212, GMR 18HD radar which I have brought, but still trying to work out if the GSD 26 and a chirp transducer will be worth it to buy, its so much more expensive then the GSD 24 and I'm not sure its worth it, I will be mostly fishing the reefs off the Gold Coast to say 100 -120 meters if water and shallower on the bad days, my other boat has a 10" Northstar 6000i with a 1Kw M260 which didn't give bad results, I was thinking of the GSD 24 with the same transducer.
I do FIFO work so I'm only home for a week a month but once the boat is finished I plan on using quite abit during that week.
Thoughts anyone...........
Thanks Doug

I had the 5012 with the GSD24 and 1KW Airmar transducer and was overly impressed with its performance.
The trick is getting that transducer set up to read at speed.
Cheers Mick.

Thanks Mick, thats the reason I was thinking of the M260 its an inhull transducer, all I would have to do is pick the right spot inside one of the hulls and mount it, from what I've been able to read about it on the Airmar website, as long as its clear of obstructions just in front of it so its not surrounded by disturbed water and as always in the water it should read at speed.
Thanks Doug
