Hey all,
I've decided to duck up Tingalpa creek tomorrow morning to have a look around. Are there any submerged hazards I should be aware of?
Cheers

yes, there are a few. if you are putting in at the ramp near the mouth, keep to the left hand side of the creek heading up stream. submerged rocks are in the middle of the creek when you get to the car bridge and are marked by a sign. i go under the car bridge on the right side but then back over to the left. the stretch from the car bridge up to the next bend is the shallowest area and i would suggest you are not in this area an hour either side of low. once you are past this stretch you are pretty clear for a few km's. if you are going a long way up the creek be careful once you come across a rope swing. there are several rock bars from this point all the way to capalaba and you don't want to be up there on a dropping tide. i would be using a lecky if you are aiming to head up that far.
fishing's as simple as 3 P's - patience, perserverance and PLASTIC!
keep an eye out for dugongs in the mouth. had one scare the crap out of me before new years
should also have mentioned: not too close to the left when approaching the train bridge. there is a pile of concrete and reo bar there.
