Barra Lake Monduran

looking at doing a trip to lake monduran in a few weeks , looking for any hints on catching my first barra .

Shallow water first light , real shallow go for a walk and cast into the sticks and weeds ...after that troll through timber...around ten feet slow 100 mm gold ..in the heat deep divers or plastic ... If it's too hot have a beer they Will go deep

If your never fished for barra before it might be worth spending half of your first day out with Jamie Bein or another of the charter operators so they can put you where you need to be fishing and how straight up. It will be a good investment and give you much more confidence for the rest of your trip.

If you dont have any experience with impoundment barra - and particularly going to a place like Mondy ..... pay for a guide for a day
It's a big dam - lots of twists & turns which can all look fishy ...... but you might be fishing a desert . Lure choice in certain conditions can be critical = the list goes on.
Mondy can be lake misery for the best of them - so at least give yourself a chance from the outset
