Taking the wife and kids to tangalooma snorkelling was wondering if any where handy to catch a couple of fish. Any hints would be great.

You can catch bream from the jetty or from the beach in front of the wrecks, mullet flesh or prawns will do for bait.
Thanks was thinking maybe some reefies or mackeral within maybe 5 - 10 ks never been on the bay before. Will be 2 boats for safety around the 5 m mark
Just keep your eyes open for working birds on the way there and back as they could be on top of Spotty Mackerel. The shipping beacons themselves hold bait and often are home to School Macs as well as the occasional Longtail or Cobia.
Snapper lurk along the edge of the shipping channel from Cowan down to the Wrecks. Just sound along it to find the dropoff and look for bait. Its not an easy place to fish but provides well for those that persevere.
The other option is to throw on a couple of Squid Jigs and drift over the weed beds along the inside of the Island
Good Luck

Anchor up near the wrecks with the 200 other boats and through bait just short of wreck and let sink down slowly. You will get all sorts of fish.
What is the bay like with a 10-15 kn se like there forecasting for tomorrow
