Tell Tail

Well, while at Somerset Day yesterday, the tell tail was at about 1/3rd power.

Didn't worry as it is only the tell tail...

Today I removed some things and found this little bugger. ( not the 5 cent piece ) !

Removed it and all should be back to normal. Just a bit of a worry when things are not doing as they are supposed to.

As opposed to Fatbuoys issue, that he may post up here. Hope you got it sorted pauly ???

If so you need to replace the impeller immediately.

Nope.... it's a rock. The impellor is in great shape.

Twice we have had jetskiis brought back to just above idle due to sudden savage vibration.

Both times when we finally got back to the ramp and we were able to inspect the inlet area we found debris lodged on the impellor.

The first time it was a piece off a green branch wood that was about 75mm long and about 20mm diameter, it been hit in the middle and had cut halfway through and it was stuck hard on the impellor. We pried it loose after removing the inlet grill.

The second time we were well up the Brisbane river, near the university when the same thing happened. We tried to shake it loose by revving the ski but then suffered a start battery internal failure from all the vibration. We had to tow the ski from there back to Woody Point which was a long tow. That time we found we had picked up and half cut through a plastic screw top off a milk container.

They are great toys but they can be easily disabled if you hit debris in the water and the debris lodges itself on the impellor.
