Anyone had any luck with any prawns lately??
Or is it still a little early?
I'll be chasing them around Tingalpa Creek & Pumicestone Passage this season.
I've been away for the past month so haven't been able to go myself. Home in a few days!

Where in the passage would u find them? Just using a cast net to capture? Does a prawn light really useful at all?
The trawlers were doing ok this week.
A couple of tonne landed according to a source.
Before that , greasies and the odd banana caught outside the shipping lane. And If you might be northwards, then The Isis was good for medium /smalls this week. If you want them in good numbers then wait 4-6 weeks will see them come on thicker.
Unless of course, we get a day a two of solid rain to push them into the bay.
Thanks Pero- Don't make it as far up as the Isis unfortunately, heading away for work just when they'll be coming on it may seem but will still have a throw beforehand and hopefully have some luck.
NArmstrong- Haven't been in the passage for a few years when I went put in at the June St Boat ramp at Golden beach/pelican waters headed south most times they'd be jumping around the boat but all trial and error. I've never been at night so can't really advise about lights, I just use a cast net each time. I consider myself a beginner as well so don't have all that much advice. I'll try post results when I head out and let you know.
yer up at turkey beach there starting to
got onto a small amount of bananas yesterday. Barely enough for a feed. Biggest was 19cm. Well, its a start!
At least they are starting to present themselves, they might be the lingerers that escape trawlers net and into Pero's castnet,Bondy
Anyone able to provide any insight into if they've had any luck chasing prawns lately?
Saw a few yellow coats on Pine the other day, doubt if they were filling in time
all gone from the pine
Yeah I saw a few blokes casting in the pine last week. Didn't seem to be to successful though. As you say Pero all gone from the pine
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
i cant imagine they are all gone. They were bagging out at different times during the week. They are just hit and miss in the pine which has been the case for last few years up there. Just hope there are a few about tomorrow, needing wind to bugger off so we can get outside nudgee !
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.
Went to the pine today ,a mate and I managed around 10ltrs, mainly small, biggest were 18cm.
the prawns were very scattered and were hard work
