Team Daiwa 100h baitcaster - clicking and needs attention

Hi all, I noticed chasing bass yesterday that she is not as smooth on retrieve anymore with a click or small thunk on each rotation of the handle. I will have to pull it apart but is there anything in particular I need to look for or deal with...never done this type of reel before.

    cheers

Have a look at the thumb release on the inside it might not be returning back to the right spot, not hearing it makes it hard to to know for sure but definately needs a servise,if noting is broken a good bit of grease and oil should fix it,just get the schematics out and you should not go wrong.

Hi fellas. Stripped down. All brass gears nice. However anti reverse cog is hitting the steel drive shaft return mechanism on normal winding. Please see attached Photo. Unfortunately I can't see why it would start this. Perhaps too much stress. Anyone seen this before? Unfortunately with bugger all knowledge of overheads I cannot make out what doesn't look right or what needs bending back etc. I can strip it dine again and take a pic...

Can I remove that ratchet plate? Doesnt the anti-reverse work by a one way bearing so the ratchet isnt necessary? Cheers

I just stripped it down again - it is necessary as it trips the free spool mechanism back into normal winding mode. It might need a new clutch plate. I might have to admit defeat and take it to a reel specialist.

I put it in at TackelWharehouse to get it fixed. Their reel repair guy couldnt get the anti-reverse part for it. Is there anyone who knows someone who could source the parts or am I flogging a dead horse? The reel is probably 15 years plus old, but looks great and has heaps of guts. Seems a shame to junk it over an anti-reverse gear...

Thanks Rodman. I dont know the actual part that is...I have the parts breakdown document, but everything looked ok to me inside the reel...i will see if the reel fixer wrote down the part to be replaced. My bet is that it is the whole anti-reverse mechanism on this diagram

The reel repair dude says it needs a clutch cam and clutch cam spring...that is parts 41 and 42 in the diagram linked.

Can anyone confirm and have any new parts?

    Cheers

Ok just a follow up on this for anyone insterested. I pulled her apart and changed out the backing piece. Having said that I found that the old one was fine, just that the grease had siezed up a little so it wasnt moving...anyway new one in place for a couple of dollars. Then cleaned up and back together with shimano reel grease and Corrosion X...felt great. A few weeks ago I used her in the upper Noosa River and she was casting beautifully.

    Cheers
