    US boat agents

    Hello,
I put a Tassie relative onto Justin at Port Sea Marine about sourcing and importing a used boat in from the US. Apparently he could help with the importing but not the sourcing.
Anyone used or know of a reputable agent who can find the type of craft the rellie is after?

I have used Marcus Taylor in the US. Bruce (Tropicrows) used him as well for a good result. I can dig up contact details if needed.

I purchased a new boat through www.wyerivermarine.com Wye River Marine. They sell new and and used boats, they have a fairly good selection on their web site and they can also source boats for you. They handled all my packing, documentation and shipping to Brisbane. Actually worked out cheaper than prices I got from Port Sea for the boat I purchased. Contact AJ Bowden or Rob Marsh they will look after you. They can also organised for an Australian compliant aluminium trailer to be built for your boat (I had this done) .

Good luck with sourcing your boat.

    Cheers

    Re: US boat agents

    Hi Guys
We try and stay away from to much sourcing and focus mainly on the specialised process of shipping and co-ordinating the logistics. We just find we are blurring the lines to much and leave this to the brokers.

However in saying that we do offer advise on some particular boats from personal experience and can often advise or suggest something better that we have seen come over our emails from dealers in the states.

Allot of my time personally is spent talking with customers about a particular boat that they are interested in and then pointing them in the right direction, in-fact this is probably the best part of my job and I am sure any of our past customers would vouch that we have enjoyed long chats about there particular mdl boat that they purchased or were considering purchasing.

Yes we also source Australian compliant trailers for about 50% of our customers, organise the funds transfers, surveys, new upholstery and other details that may need sorting out in the states prior to the boats leaving if required.

If you would like any questions answered just give us a buzz in the office.

    Cheers
