I hate to say it but I wonder who will be first to accidentally drop their sounder (tablet) over the side, it will. Give the fish something to watch for a while at least...
I found that one at ~$150 delivered at Dino Direct, I don't think the one from Office Works has GPS installed.Hey Fed, how are you going with that search? Any links?
You can check Dino yourself I don't want to put up a link until I check out a few more for other features like memory, screen res and cameras etc.
I must be missing something here which offcourse is quite possible at me ole ripe age lol, but why would i wanna let go of my steering or take my eyes away from the sounder to viewe the sounder display on my smartphone ???..
I mean i get a reasonable display on my sounder unit, unless offcourse just for the fun o it?? ??
You need to read the first post in this thread and follow the link Volvo.
It's not for people who already have electronics it's for people who have nothing or better still already own a good sized tablet.
Take one big tablet $200
Add Navionics $40
Add one wifi transducer $150
~$400 outcome is a 10" fishfinder with GPS running Navionics as plotter.
or ~$200 if you already have the tablet.
Meant as a stand alone unit not a 'visual repeater'.
I wonder if airmar will bring out a wifi transducer?
Thanks Fed!
I've been doing some googling and I'll be buggered if I can find one that says GPS in the specs.
I don't really want to rely on the spotty faced kid in JB HIFI.
I'll keep on looking.
Ya Wayno ^^^
Haha I'll have to check out the Townsville store.
Why is everybody talking about a wifi transducer all you need is a usb gps receiver for about $50 on ebay.
And of course if you have Ipad with wifi/3g has built in GPS that I use in remote areas and its free no need for data card.
To convert the tab into a sounder (fish finder) paulp.
Cheers
