took my youngbloke and usual deckie shano out this morning with a plan to drop pots then head to moreton for a troll for a few macks...started off ok at manly around 6 with prob 10 knts at the harbour...set the pots in around 20knts at green and headed to moreton in prob 20-25knts northerly....was pretty well 1.5mtr northerly wind chop with every 5 and 6th wave around 2 mtrs...we took it nice and easy around the 16-18 knt all the way over with a couple of times backing right of the throttles...when we got in close to the island it was well and truly fishable with around .5 mtr chop..got onto the macks straight away but was hard going getting a keeper...the rat macks where everywhere...pulled the pin around 12 and headed for home in a following rear quarter sea around the 1mtr mark...finished with 10 mackerel..pulled the pots for 24 keepers a great feed for the effort..
cheers rosco
