Bit early for spotties.... Usually after Xmas before they turn up.... Plenty of schoolies about though....

    Re: moreton bay spotties

Got one one west end of the Rouse. Was trolling for 20 minutes on the way home. Quite sure it was a spottier (I'm no expert), about 70cm fork length, spots, and no white mark on the dorsal fin.

Spotties have been scarce in the bay over the last few years, hopefully they stop in this year. Schoolies have been going great guns.

They sure have..... might be to do with the copious amounts of rain we have had for the last 2 years in January..... Hopefully might be a bit drier this year....they are one of my favorite fish to chase...

I forgot the camera, and fed the frame to the pelicans at the ramp. I could well be wrong in the idenification. Next time I will take a camera and check the dorsal fin very closely.

Plenty more on the site also, just do a search using a few key words, start with 'paravane', 'schoolies', 'mackeral', 'rosco', whatever....

    Re: moreton bay spotties

Schoolies are here for most of the year. Spotties are more aggressive surface feeders compared to Schoolies/Dogies who seem to sit deeper in the water column.
