What Rod and Reel to buy

I live on the Gold coast and have a small tinnie I often go fishing it, I currently have 2 light spinning setups that both run 4kg fireline, I am looking for something a big bigger to go bait fishing with in the broad water, but don't want to spent a fortune, can anyone suggest something that BCF may have that's suited to catch maybe larger fish then bream and Flathead, I am not that experienced in fishing outside of the creeks and rivers around the GC yet, only just got a motor big enough to get into the boradwater (I had a 5 on the back and it was to slow to get anywhere)

Have a look at the Shimano Raider combos available at BCF. They come with an ELF model spin reel and will do the trick. I would go for a 3-6kg outfit running 15-20lb braid on it (not fused like Fireline)

depends what ya mean by not spending a fortune.. I think a shimano symetre 4000 20lb braid and a 8kg rod would be fine to double as a jack rod/jewie outfit.. for both livies and lures..
