That stuff can be around 4,000kg B/S. Other 6mm braided ropes are closer to 400kg

I have no idea what brand or breaking strain it was. I'm going to ring the winch company tomorrow.
At $300 I thought that would be good quality. I might be wrong.

After reading some of the comments and having a good look at the setup I now have some concerns over the bow sprit and tie off cleat.
The cleat inside the well has some sharp edges.
The boAttachment 97046w sprit has a cut out fish design on the sides with very sharp edges (not burred) right where the front roller is. The line will run up roller and aAttachment 97045long this design when driving of at angle. Also front side plates have a 90 degree edge.

So not sure if any of this has contributed to the failure.Attachment 97044

The 6mm double braid that I get with my winches has a breaking strain of 2000 kg.
So far none have ever broken that I know of.

Do you know what brand it is and where it can be bought from. I'll add it to my short list.

By memory, it cost $1200 to spool it, so yes, its expensive, but like Horse said, just about unbreakable.

I am not sure what brand the braid is.
    100m x 6mm with 8m of 6mm chain is $158.
    200m x 6mm Double Braid + 10m of 8mm Chain is $220
Also about $20 freight costs on top.
Just shoot me a pm anytime if you wanted some
