Just weld all the holes in the trailer up and fill with some hydraulic oil. Will never rust on the inside then.
Then coat the outside with tectyl.

Has any one used - http://www.salt-away.com.au/ for rinsing trailers / motors etc - Looks like another great product to minimise rust and preserve trailer life ...

I just brought a litre of concentrate and mixed it in a spray bottle. I've used it on my fishing rods/reels and speargun. Seems to work well.
Last factory visit today ( 17-01-14 ) before we take delivery - Couldn't be happier with our new 543sf - It Is AWESOME
The team at Signature Boats water test/prop ALL their hulls and with our being a completely new model they have ordered in three to start with for next weeks water trials ....
Just finishing off the console, windscreen and electronics placement & we're done - next trip will see it on the back of our Prado

Looks really horny mate, love the Hull colour! Can't wait to see how it performs for you.

Scott I have been using a product called "Macks" which is the same / similar to salt away on my aluminium boat and gal trailer since new. It is 3 years old now with no apparent signs of rust inside or out. I use a little combined with detergent in the spray bottle of a pressure cleaner to clean the whole boat and trailer blasting it off after sitting for a few minutes. I then have adapted a small length of garden hose to the genuine applicator for flushing the motor and flood the cross rails with it also spraying a liberal amount through the main frame of the trailer. I have always been tempted to run some cheap low pressure hosing through all the channels of the trailer placing sprayers at intervals so I could simply hook it to the hose. I believe this product has helped enormously at keeping the rust problem down. It also has the added benefit of keeping your brakes and disks rust free.

Sevric - Sounds like a great product and system - I'll check it out !

There's another thread going on props for the DF140. It will be interesting to read your test results and whether the motor is set at the correct height.
Scott another idea I have always tossed around in my head to reduce salt instigated corrosion which is also simple and that is to wash the boat and trailer in fairly warm water and detergent. Salt dissolves at quite low temperatures; I am sure removing much more salt than a cold water wash, this will also reduce corrosion.

Hi Scott. Have been reading this thread with great enthusiasm but would like to know! did you have a tent pitched out the back of the Haines factory? Awesome boat by the way!

Thats one hell of a boat Scotto! Iike it a lot.
Looks seriously good.
I'll be interested in the water tests Scott, how it handles in all sorts of conditions. GBC on here reckons his 542 CC whispers to him to go faster and faster. I've found mine does the same with the deckie shouting slow down..
