    Peter,

my point being you are petitioning the wrong people, the guys doing the software overlays for the maps, have a degree of control over what the shaded areas look like, the Aus govt has no control over what they do with the data.

I.E Blue chart maps have the overlay done nicely, while navionics don't.

As for me, I don't really care as I can overlay my own data.

Just updated my Navionics maps on the iPad and found that they have changed the purple outline on some green zones to red dashes and now have the go slow zones in some areas as purple outlines and some as red dates too... Make sure you know where you are.

I just use the green zone book as a reference as to where they are and then use the navionics chart once I know i'm in the area. Not an issue IMO

I just wish all gps manufactures would use the same standard. Pick a colour and hatch the whole area NOT just the outline.

C-Map used to hatch the whole area when they did the green zones for GBRMPA. To be honest it was a PITA the way they did it. It actually made it difficult to distinguish features on the map when just generally navigating (not everyone fishes and even those of us that do have to drive through the odd green zone) to the point you had to delve into the menu and turn the zoning off. Navionics have gone the other way. It would be nice to have something in between.
