Gees what a shame, my son in law just sold a diesel powered 25 cheap. I might add, diesel powered 25's are pretty rare, you will need look for a while to find one. You need to remember the 25 is a beast to tow, they have a 10' beam!

was the ride bad in the broadbill? i would get another if it wasnt due to the bertys being the same price as the broadbills

i can’t imagine a berty 25 footer being much different in the chop

I have 3 vertebra fused in my spine so i know the feeling

The broady was fine handled great was a bit scary if you weren't use to it in a following sea copping swell on the shoulder she would go right over on her side but just pop back up lol.
Seen a few of the mates with dinner plate size eyes ha ha ha ..the thing with the berty is beds and kitchen a bit more comfy

    Re: bertram 25 or 30

the 25 is a BIG boat for 25', full cabin in the front with twin, or double bed with the infill, then a separate cabin for the lower helm and the "kitchen" with a fold down table that forms another double bed, most were just open at the back, but some had sliding doors fitted later on, making a full closed, lock up cabin, add to that the Flybridge and they were a good mini game boat, BUT remember, they have a 10' (3M) beam! so towing any distance is a big deal, I know where there is one for sale at the moment if you would like me to chase it up, good alloy trailer, ready to go.

Not sure how much you want to spend and how easy you want to make it on your self but these are a nice looking boat and legally trailerable in Aust without overwidth signage.

The Ray Glass have nothing on a Berty, not even in the ball park. The 27 Berty that came out about 8 - 10 years ago is the biggest you can tow. There are a fair number of those with twin Yanmar set- ups that would be my pick. Quite a bit more deck space compared to the 25's which are all old now, but there are some great 25's still around.

If you take the legs off, motors out, and then put a pod on with a pair of 200 outboards they are a fantastic boat.
