Squidgy Blood Worm Colour
Just went down to the local tackle store to buy some more of my favourite estuary plastic, being the 80mm Squidgy in bloodworm colour.
I was disappointed to see the colour has now changed.
Could this be the result of incorrect labelling, or that the lure is now made in Indonesia unlike my previous ones which were made in China.
Either way, a little disappointing.
Thought I would post a picture so you can see the difference.
I hope Gold Bombers don't change colour, I'll be done for then!
there was a mix up in production a whileback only discovered when they got to australia, they werent going to release them,but they ran out of the original colour and couldnt get them here on time so they decided to release the stuffed up ones, if you look through the different types and sizes you will find that there is about 5 or 6 different shades of bloodworm., from an almost red colour to a clear one.

As Benny suggested, the batch run a few months ago came out too light a shade and the plastic was a harder density. They have all but left the shelves now and the new batch is back on the mark.
One other thing too, They are adding extra UV reaction chemicals to some of the range, colours are darker in sunlight but bright in low light or UV light.

They work just as well as the original... trust me.It is the same colour as the Powerbait "bloodworm scales" which has been a solid flathead lure for me in the past.Pic's below just some of the 40+ flathead and tailor caught one arvo on this new colour.
Well whatever the reason it's pretty poor QC in the part of the Squidgy manufacturing process. Yes the new colour may work fine, but I do have a problem with a commonly used lure changing colours because of a stuff up in manufacturing and it could not be rectified. How many Gold Bombers would be sold I they suddenly turned blue?
From what I can see, don't buy the Pro range wrigglers........
I have always found the pro range wrigglers to be darker then the non pro range. Personally I like the darker of the 2
