Starboard is the white high density plastic used in marine fabrication. It is available in different thicknesses and depending on whether you are happy adding the weight, will definitely be strong enough provided it is thick enough and enough edge support is left. The fact you want to stand up there makes the free surface effect comment more relevant. The tank is going to hold almost 40 litres of water - in a 3.4 metre boat that's a fair bit of weight to have shift.

thanks i'll see if i can find that stuff and the tank will only be filled to around 150mm of the 220mm i need to allow some sloshing around

but being 800mm wide would be ideal to keep big flat head for later release or dispatch and i could always fill it with an ice slurry for when the king fish are in town
