I was wondering if someone could give me some advice about fishing this area.

I want to go out thursday, but area all new to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Greg. Used to fish Curtain of a night before I head out to the cape in the morning. There are big fish in that area, all of which eluded me. But on the turn of a tide for about half an hour you would catch a feed of squire. Then it would shut down, even if you could hold baits on the bottom the current does roar through there. I have seen really good golden trevally caught there as well. Use to dead stick a placcy and drop a strip bait on a paternoster.

Last hour of the run in either direction is the prime period.
I generally fish floaters as the current drops and long leaders when the current is stronger.
Avoid baits that twist.
If you are going to use whole squid, be sure they hang in the current well and not spinning, I generally rig them on jig hooks with assist hooks trailing in the tentacles. Get the jig hook inside the hood and push the eye thru the top of the mantle and tie the jig hook on.
Drift fishing is more productive but more terminal it is a trade off.

Personally I find Bulwer and the hole in the wall more productive than the Curty, bit that arti can turn it on sometimes if the divers are not about.

Jig your live squid on the banks along the beaches.
