Thread: Marlin Sunset Rod

    Marlin Sunset Rod

Well I finally got round to finishing the Marlin Sunset Rod. Built on a UC CX40 XH blank with purple Alps bent butt and RX rollers. The ramps are made from a local timber called Hairy Oak which has a distinctive grain and I thought it suited to colours of the rod.

    Cheers

Like this build a lot Pedro.....Was only thinking the other day why don't they put some colour into game rods instead of the boring Black with gold trim..Not that I got any probs with black Gold combos just seems that all game rods are black/ gold trim
What sort of timber ya use ?

Very nice Pete. A big gold reel would look great on that rod. Another work of art

Mate the first thing that hit me in the eye was the wooden ramps. Just brilliant! I like the whole rod but those ramps are the killer for me.
