Saturday offshore the Pin my Dad caught his first Jew, had him working to get him off the bottom, taken on a pilly on a paternoster fishing in 150ft, fish was 120cm and bloody fat and heavy. Soon after chased a Bronzie for 45mins that took a livie, had illusions that maybe it was a nice cobia or such, no such luck. Great day once the wind dropped and we were treated to 3 and 4 humpbacks at a time circling the boat for about an hour. Other than that fishing was slow for a few squire and a couple of mixed reefies. Hope the others out there did well.

Nice jewie RIB. What a difference a day makes. Glorious conditions on Sunday but found the current racing - 12oz leads at 40deg - with close to 200m of line out in 60m..

Thanks Mick, had to get lucky one day, looking forward to trying again late this week if the weather plays.
Wags thats bizarre, even in 210 ft on sat i was dropping with a ball sinker, there were good shows but nothing on the chew except for the 3 small squire so we spent most of our time closer in. fished a few marks near the waverider a couple of weeks ago and the current was almost unfishable, makes a long trip out a pain when its like that. Thats our first Jew there, at the same time dad was landing his i had a bite then a bit of weight and then a lot of weight then nothing again, a flattie came up with big chew marks on him so maybe there were a couple of decent Jew about at that instant.

A mate of mine mentioned using a 4 ball reaching the bottom on Saturday in 55m. That's what we all dream about - no current on the wider grounds.

36's off the pin the drift was 0.2 knots and glassy, with plenty of snaps wanting to play
Not often you get to shut down a 35' flybridge and drift in silence......bloody awesome conditions.
(Was running harder on the 50's, that and the chat on the radio about 3 knots of current stopped us from going wide)
